How To Get A French Manicure

The experts of modern fashion have strikingly different  ideas about the French manicure. Some believe that this nail style is  rather obsolete and outdated, while others think that it is a classic and never goes out of fashion. But regardless of the views of many gurus of modern fashion, many women do a French nails  because of its simplicity and natural look.





French Manicure History

You might be surprised that the French manicure was originated in America, but it is really so. It was originated  in 1970s by Jeff Pink, the head of the American company ORLY, at the request of Hollywood stylists who are fed up with the actress, who changing nail polish a few times a day during the filming, because it does not suitable for clothes. This nail style used on the Pink fashion show in Paris. The very next day  every self-respecting Parisian would have such nails. In memory of the great success in France, Pink called his invention “French”.

    French manicure – this style of nail polishing, where the white paint is applied to the tip of the nail, and the remaining part of the nail varnished solid, pink or light beige. The border between the white and pink paint has a nice name – the line “smile”. French manicure is very good for short nails.

How to do French nails at home

If you decide to do a French manicure at home, follow these simple tips :

    Before you start to do a French nails, make sure that your nails do not polished. If it is, then remove old enamel with a tampon moistened it first in nail polish acetone remover. Then give tour nails  a trim.
    Apply a base coat. This will help strengthen the nail and it is necessary  to protect the nail surface from yellowing.
    Apply white paint on the tip of the nail. This is the most complicated to be done. You can carefully make a line of “smile” with a brush and use  sticky strips – stencils. Stencils are included to many manicure kits and will make an ideal flat “smile.”  White lacquer must be applied in two coats and allow to dry.
    After the white paint is dry, apply the entire nail a pale pink or peach polish in one or two layers. In manicure sets include special paints: they usually have a translucent texture, so nails look natural.
    The last step – put the top layer of fixative, it gives nails a natural shine.
